There is a bench I love to sit on in the neighborhood.
The sun comes through the leaves. The air moves softly. And in that stillness, I can hear myself more clearly.
Lately, what has come up for me in those quiet moments is grief.
Not only grief for those who have passed on, but grief for people who are still here and still cannot meet me where I am.
We expect to grieve death. But we do not always talk about the grief that can come with growth. The grief that appears when you begin to heal, see clearly, and choose peace.
And still, I want to remind you of this: your growth is not this horrible thing or something to feel wrong about.
You are allowed to heal, to want more for your life, and to let go of what keeps you stuck in longing for something more.
This month’s affirmation is:
I let go with love and make room for peace.
Let that sit with you.
And here is a reflection question you can carry with you for this month:
What am I still holding that may be keeping me from the peace I say I want? Hmm. That's a good one, right?
